It's not Fontainebleau, but where else do you get the chance to sleep in a chateau for €18 a night with breakfast included? The room (twin bed for a single traveller -- pure luxury) was spacious and had a good view on the idyllic little river. Only downside, the top level where the beds are could have been slightly cleaner but I appreciate it's hard to haul a hoover up those (seriously) steep steps. Overall, a fantastic place to stay -- I stayed four nights and loved every second.

The hostel is conveniently located for Paris if you are travelling by road. We stayed here last year and just love the charm of the building with it's large garden and imposing facade

The room smelled of cigarette smoke, and the floor was dirty. The corridors were dark and depressing.

Hostel response:
Customers smoke in rooms(chambers) and when we notice it he(it) is too late. We proposed you another room(chamber) but you did not want. We paid off to you the next nights exceptionally while you did not stay.
We made what we were able to!

Lovely location, however a car is recommended for this hostel. It is possible by public transport but it's rather difficult. Well worth it though, everyone was lovely.
