Good experience with youth hostel. The only problem lies in the mattress which was too hard for me to lie on top of it comfortably@@

The hostel is nice, but the staff were not particularly helpful. It really seemed that the people I spoke to did not know much about how to get to key attractions and were not so keen on helping out either. The hostel is in the central circle of the city, so close to the restaurants, mall, etc.

Staff is really friendly. Facilities are very clean and have a great location. Wi-fi is a bit expensive.

It was not explained that the use of a credit card would incur a 3% mark-up on the room rate. I was offered the opportunity to buy a ticket for the airport bus but, on my own, found out that bus has limited service times which didn't fit my travel plans. The self-storage locker on the second floor for baggage would give instructions only in German so we had to go to the first floor.

The staff on duty was very friendly and helpful. We got a bit a trouble with the luggage storage & it was sorted out immediately.

Check-in process: Staff (may be new) overcharged me the room rate for members although I had asked her if this was member rate. She said yes. Then, I asked another staff to recheck if it was the right room rate. He found that it was wrong rate, so he credited back to my credit card which the refund made me loss in the exchange rate.

A huge range of shops, cafes, restaurants, banks, nightclubs, cinemas, and theatres are just around the corner.Canberra City YHA is suitable for families with children. We require that all children under 16 are accommodated in private rooms, and that all children under 18 travel with their parent or guardian. Please contact the hostel directly to book rooms for your family.
