A nice place, great open communal area, free surf board/boogie board hire...close to bus stop!

loved this hostel was my favourite that i stayed in on the east coast! the staff were really helpfull, it was clean and the facilities were excellent. the only down side was the showers that needed an update with a shower curtain and re-grouting of the tiles. a hairdryer in the bathroom would also be great.

Byron Bay YHA is in the centre of this chic seaside town, 200 metres from the beach. Hire a surfboard or bike from the hostel and check out Byron's unspoilt beaches and great cycling trails. Relax by the heated pool, enjoy BBQ nights, and watch the sun set over Australia's eastern-most point. All rooms have fans and decks.YHA/HI members receive a minimum 10% off standard accommodation rates.
