Met really great peoplein the social area but the place is pretty run down. Paid for a room with air con but it didn't work and no one at the front seemed to care.Girl who works the travel desk is amazing. Very helpful.

I would have liked to know that the private twin room we booked was actually bunk beds not single beds.

I loved this place. I truly felt like it was a 'home away from home'. The location was excellent (walking distance from tons of shops, restaurants and bars/clubs and just down the street from the D line subway and tons of buses). The staff was extremely helpful (thank you Nico, Lara, Deepa and Vicki!) and friendly. It was a great place to meet tons of interesting people (many of which I traveled with).

Good location, has a bus stop and subway close. Outlets and bars nearby. The problems was: the bathrooms aren't clean as they should be, even being cleaned routinely. Employees clean the rooms at busy times out, what prevents our circulation by the environments. Finally, I had serious problems with the transfer that I booked with Tango hostel. I went to the meetpoint and nobody knew explain about anything. I almost loose my flight. But finally, with a delay of 40 minutes, it worked.

My third stay at Tango Backpackers Palermo showed definite signs of improvement. New staff members were most courteous and more efficient than staff from prior visits. On prior visits staff was more interested in courting partners than in attending to guest needs. Although cleanliness is still an ongoing problem, I saw much improvement and sustained efforts to address this issue. Shower water pressure is much improved. I did not rate Tango Hostel highly value for money because a private room with shared bathroom was not available and was required to pay double rates for a double room without private bathroom. If a private bathroom (unlikely due to the layout of the property) were attached to the single/double room it would up it to good value for money. The Wifi is rather slow and only available in the common areas. Were it to be available throughout the property that would vastly improve the experience.
Hostel Overview
Tango Backpackers is the most recommended hostel in Palermo, Buenos Aires. This noisy and party hostel consists of several converted old style properties, linked through halls and staircases, which conclude in a large terrace that invite guests to relax, sunbathe and enjoy in the open air. This hostel is one of the HI network of hostels in Argentina, and one of nine hostels in the Buenos Aires area. In the lobby and reception area is the bar, which becomes the meeting point in the evenings, where the hostel guests from all over the world share experiences and organize the best outings at night around the clubs in Buenos Aires.Facilities include: WiFi area, Free internet, breakfast, laundry service, sheets, towels, lockers, baggage storage, bar, tourist information, terrace, self catered kichen, BBQ area and much more!
