Stop doing business with the lockers, future travelers: bring with you a padlock, it's 4 euros there! Everything else is perfect

    Hostel response:
hello thanks for your good comments there is a free bagage room in the basement, and it's true it's better to bring your own padlock all the best within the HI hostels around best regards phil

This hostel is a bit difficult to locate at the first if you are not familiar with Brussel. But it is located in a quiet neighbourhood. Within 10 - 15 minutes walk to museum area. It is quite clean. Breakfast is a bit disappointing.

    Hostel response:
hello thanks very much for your good notes we always appreciate some feedback we are 15 minutes walk from downtown city center we wish you all the best within the hostelling international community regards phil

I stayed one night at the 'Jacques Brel' Youth Hostel and I had a really great time. The staff was really nice, the room was clean and the beds were good. On top of that, they have a great bar with all kinds of beer. If I am going to visit Brussels again, I'll definitely spend the night at this hostel!

    Hostel response:
hello nice to read your good comments all the best within the HI hostels around and thanks for taking sometime to write this note cheers phil

Even if a little further from the city center (yet close to two metro stops), it's worth it for the price/quality/cleanliness. I'll sure come back!

Ive stayed in a lot of hostels whilst on my year abroad and this one was by far the best. The room was spotless and it actually looked like in the hours rooms are unavailable they had someone cleaning. Plus each room had its own shower room..which is far better and cleaner than communal ones...though 6 girls with one bathroom could get brutal. Breakfast was great and staff were friendly and ansered my questions about Brussels...and it was within 5 minutes walk of grand place so perfect location. 10/10

    Hostel response:

We were very impressed with how modern and classy the hostel was! Also, the breakfast was better than any HOTEL I've ever stayed in. Keep it organic!

Nice room, good location, helpful staff. Toilet sometimes lacking toilet paper :(. Door of toilet in room needed replacing. Disappointed that there was no communal kitchen to prepare food or half tea. Overall A happy stay.

    Hostel response:
    Hello,

Thank you for your comment, we're happy you liked your stay.
There was no kitchen at this time because there was some renovation works, and now it's all finish !
I will communicate the problem of the door to my colleague in charge of this, and next time if you need something you can ask at the reception !
We wish you the best in HI hostels.
    Kind regards,
    Agathe

A great place to say, there are renovations happening at the minute so breakfast was a bit difficult. On small request, could the hostel look at changing the pillows, ours were so bad we could barley move our necks the next morning!

    Hostel response:
Hello, Thank you for your comment, We will pay attention to your remark and do all we can to improve our service. Best regards and happy new year, Jeoffrey.
