Very nice facilities in a modern former school built in the 1970. Kitchen with fabulous views of the fjord. However, two bathrooms with showers inside in the upper floor are a bit too little for the amount of people, as well as the dinning tables. The road to get there is gravel in several sections, but in good condition.

The layout of the building worked well. Good facilities - just right for the number of guests. Good space in the kitchen to allow several people to cook concurrently. Lovely location. It is a pity we did not have longer to spend in the area.

Very nice, comfortable hostel with superb well-equipped kitchen and living room on first floor. Our room had amazing views over the fjord. Highly recommended, it's a shame we only had one night there.

Very nice hostel in a building formerly used as school. Great view on the sea and birds, nice and spacy living rooms and kitchen. A good first stop before driving into the Westfjords of Iceland.

There is a puffin island near the hostel. We can watch puffins at sunset which is excellent. The host is very nice and we feel like at home. We really love this hostel.

Hostel Overview
Broddanes hostel is about 235 km away from Reykjavík. The hostel is located in an old school that now has got a new role welcoming guests from all over the world.Guests have access to a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room and sitting room where they can watch TV, read the papers or simply enjoy the view. Guests should consider that the closest convenient store is 35 km away.
Broddanes is a bird watching paradise. Puffins, eider ducks, black guillemots, ringed plovers, skuas, fulmars and other feathered friends are common in the area while seals hang about on the coastline. The landscape is equally diverse with its peninsulas, creeks, islets and skerries.
Broddanes is only 35 km south of Hólmavík where you can find a convenient store, swimming pool and a golf course. Hólmavík is also the home of the Museum of Icelandic Sorcery & Witchcraft
