The young man at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. All staff answered any questions with a smile. A great hostel.

Located close to a train station & near the city center, alongside several other hostels. Spacious, clean, well designed & kept. Toilets / kitchens needed more cleaning, but still were fine.

This hostel is overpriced for what it offers. The room I stayed in had no window and relied on airconditioning. The rooms were like a hotel with no character. The wi-fi was expensive. There are other hostels nextdoor nearly half the price. Also there is what I would described as an "ageism" that is creaping into YHA. The girl I dealt with was supprised and appeared annoyed that an older person was using the service even though I was a life member. YHA is for people of all ages.
Hostel Overview
Brisbane City YHA is set in the heart of the city close to the Brisbane River. This modern hostel is close to the cafes and nightlife of Fortitude Valley and Caxton Street. The Brisbane hostel features include rooftop pool with views of the city and Brisbane River, TV lounge, games room, indoor and outdoor dining and entertainment areas, travel desk, wireless internet throughout, secure parking and 24 hour access. The hostel has Australiana-themed decor, decked out with spectacular photographs taken by the winners of a photo competition.Rates quoted are standard non-member rates. YHA / HI members receive 10% discount at check-in. Specialist Group accommodation facilities are available.
