Stunning setting. Difficult to access especially with public transportation. Must be fairly confident driver with maneuverable car as the access roads are very hilly and one lane. Bring your own sheets. Does not accept credit cards.
Hostel Overview
The world famous and stunning Gap of Dunloe is 1.5km and the boat terminus on the upper lake (from Killarney) is 1km away with the Black Valley Youth Hostel between them. The highest mountains in Ireland, the Macgillycuddy's Reeks, the Beara Peninsula and the Ring of Kerry are all easily reached from this idyllic spot. There is also an equestrian centre nearby.This Kerry Hostel is a modern hostel with a TV room and self-catering kitchen. A shop is located on the back of the Black Valley Hostel where you can buy your supplies. The manager can give you information on walking routes in the area.
