It's a very nice set of college dorms which are used as hostel rooms sometimes. As such you have free internet (no WIFI), your own bathroom with built-in clothes lines in case you need to wash clothing and all situated in a very new building close to the Casco Viejo. The bad part is that this dorm/hostel is in a slightly shady neighborhood. Lots of drug deals going on in the surrounding streets and if you walk to the wrong end of the street you'll be surrounded by prostitutes, bordellos and felonious looking characters. As long as you stay on the end of the street near the dorm and Calle Garcia Salazar you'll have no problems. Finally, if you use Google Maps to give you directions to the hostel please be careful, in my case it indicated at the hostel was at the wrong end of the street, so I walked among the pimps and hookers for a while before being redirected by a friendly shopkeeper.

Blas de Otero Residence, newly built, is located right in the heart of Bilbao, just 10 min from Gran Vía and Moyúa Square. The Residence has 216 beds distributed in single and double rooms, all of them with private bathroom, equipped kitchen, fridge, direct telephone line, TV aerial, Internet and heating. The common areas consit of: gym, TV/DVD rooms, games room, laundry, self-service kitchen, computers room, parking optional.
