This hostel is converted from a lovely courtyard. It really gives a feel of how the locals used to live. Despite its history, the hostel has modern facilities such as hot shower and free wifi access. Friendly staff, affordable prices are the elements which attracted me! Also, not to mention watching a game of football in the bar with my fellow travelers!

Excellent environment. A bit noisy but not more than expected. The prices increased in the middle of our stay (April '12), and we found it a bit pricier. Still, it is fair since Beijing is probably increasing its prices across the board. The staff is really friendly and helpful, which is great.

Easy to get disoriented at closest subway station.Interesting "ethnic" location but a trifle difficult to find [even for the cabdrivers]

This hostel had very friendly and helpful staff. The common area was very cosy. The food could be so much better though, and there was serious humidity problems in the dorm I was staying.

Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed Heyuan IYH! The young staff running the place were very friendly, and went out of their way to help us celebrate our son's 18th birthday, finding a birthday cake and arranging for friends and guests to sing happy birthday and play music. They also did their best to arrange train tickets, very hard to come by in Beijing. The coffee at the bar was great, and the egg and veggie fried rice were a great option for dinner when we were too tired to seek out street food or a local restaurant. The courtyard is very peaceful and quiet with well tended plants. The rooms were also clean and quiet with great air conditioning. The place is an oasis in the big city.You will be happy to return here after a day spent exploring Beijing. Don't miss a chance to stay here!

I would recommend this hostel. Close to a tube station and only a few stops from the main attractions in the city. Also walking distance to the bus to the Badaling Great Wall. Clean, friendly and cheap (rooms and bar). Only downsides are the slow wi-fi speed and the hostel being located on a grubby back street.

Heyuan International is the latest HI hostel in Beijing to join the HI network. The hostel is one of the HI network of hostels in China and one of a few hostels in Beijing. Located in the city of Beijing is is perfectly situated for sightseeing and exploring.Heyuan International Youth Hostel is a courtyard hostel. We are fulfilling the concept of free communication and protecting the environment. The hostel is conveniently located in the heart of Beijing, which is 8 minutes walk from the subway(Jishuitan Station). With the traditional decorating style, beautiful courtyard, lively bar and comfortable beds, it is born for backpackers .
