Some noicy groups and some noicy individuals (read italians) who were deliberately talking and (fake)laughing loud in the middle of the night and even knocked on our door waking us upp (the ones who were asleep). Their "mammas" would not have been proud of how their sons behaved. But hey, that's hostel life. Hoped for getting some cheese and/or ham to the bread at breakfast, none (instead 3 sorts of sweet cerials, chocolate croissants, white bread, sweet juices, milk, tea, coffee, hot chocolate). Big plus for the fact that the guests take upp their bed linen and bring it down at the reception at checking out which allowes lower costs and the cleaning staff to concentrate on the cleaning itself. Barcelona, one of my favourite places in Europe.

19 yr old's from Netherlands, SCREAMING & shouting ALL night long, no kidding! OMG! Banging around the hostel. No police called, that goes on EVERY NIGHT! We paid 153 Euros in advance, for 3 nights. 1st day we put tags on our beds to let any new people know that our beds, & USED SHEETS were taken. 2nd night ready to go to bed and discovered a woman sleeping in my used bed sheets! I had a label on my bed! They gave us a different unused room. It was empty for a reason it had just been fumigated! We tried to sleep but the Frat house screaming shouting brats ruined any chance of sleep. We gathered all of our stuff, from both rooms and left the hostel at three in the morning! Prostitutes, drug dealers everywhere. Out of control drunken brats ruined a very precious Barcelona day for us. We have two sets of boy / girl twins aged 22 and 20, we know teens! Center Rambles must lose the IYHA title! You are tricking innocent international travelers into thinking they can sleep in that location.

Perfect localisation,nice staff.The lift makes impression of very old and little unsafull.It was strange that in the evening in meal room some tourist were drinink some alcol.In the upper lock wordrobe in rooms were dust and empty pack of condoms.From the widow is a nice view.Standard of the rooms typicaly for a youth hostel.

We stayed in an 6-bedded dorm, the beds/lockers were all crammed together so it was hard to move around everyone else's stuff. I felt like I was being rude when I came back at 11pm and had to be loud just because I couldn't move around right. The bathroom lights turn off too fast in the stalls and the downstairs bathroom smelled like pee the whole 2 days I was there.

The bathroom smelled very bad and then there was a big flood. But outside those elements and buying a bathroom deodorizing spray, we had great time in the flat, we had everything we needed, spacious and a full kitchen, tv, etc etc etc with an incredible location and price. THANKS!

Hostel Overview
Center-Rambles Youth Hostel is located in the city centre, just 100 meters from 'las Ramblas', 5 minutes from 'Plaza Catalunya', and 10 minutes from the beach (closest metros to the hostel: L3 - Liceu station, or Plaza Catalunya: L1, L3). It enables travellers to enjoy the charms of Barcelona from the very heart of the city. Inaugurated in 2002, the hostel has 200 beds in share dorms of 3,4,5,6,8 and 10 beds and offers free internet access, free breakfast, free sheets, cable TV, laundry, air conditioning, central heating, luggage storage, safe boxes, lockers in the rooms, towels rental, travel library, free city maps, board games, Barcelona information, activities, etc. It´s open 24 hours every day all year.Center-Rambles is a member of Hostelling International, the youth hostels net of the Generalitat de Catalunya, and Reaj.
