I was in a 4bed-dorm and I liked the space but the noise outside late at night was very disturbing. The kitchen a great space and the reception are very knowledgeable about the city. Thanks very much

There was a constant noise out of our window, maybe from the laundry, the building nearby or whatever, but the noise never stopped, even at night when we were trying to get some sleep. The instalations of the bedroom was very poor too. Also, when you book through the website it doesn't give an option to book a parking space and when we got there, SURPRISE, no parking available. We still managed to get a permit to use the park but somebody (without the park permit) always parked there and when we complained to the staff, nobody did anything about it.... It was like, whatever. Rating: 4 out of 10 for us. We stayed at Christchurch hostel and it was amazing, hope Auckland would follow the standard.

I enjoyed my stay in YHA Auckland and will return later in April Thanks very much....your kitchen is excellent ...could be doing with some more small sharp kitchen knives!

Generally a great place to stay. However please note limited on showers (one was out of order, another leaked out into the hall) so there can be a bit of a queue at peak morning times.

Hostel Overview
One of two YHA Auckland hostels, we are located within a 5 minute walk of the city centre and offer the height of backpacker luxury. The hostel is 5 star Qualmark rated, staffed 24 hours and offers excellent amenities. Small and large multishare rooms, twin, double and ensuite rooms are available. A large fully equipped kitchen, gear and luggage storage, TV room, relaxed communal areas, video library, stereo and great book exchange make this hostel a complete facility.For information and bookings of Auckland and national activities or transport, talk to the knowledgeable staff at the travel desk, open seven days. Limited reserved car parking is available – please contact the hostel to check availability and reserve a parking bay.
