It was a great experience to stay there. The Lady from the reception in the morning was really very nice and very helpful.

In off season, few guests and restricted office times but good service. Downstairs lounge and kitchen adequate but may be crowded in warmer season. Only a town which has kept its old charm with local limestone housing and winding laneways. A beautiful coastal town and pleasant bus trip from Split.

Little bit far from the heart of the city. It's a normal hostel...

The only problem was a very poor kitchen facility. The partition wall between the kitchen and members' common room should be removed and more space allocated for members to cook. Self-catering is an important element of hostelling which must be maintained. I understand there is aproblem with kitchen resources being stolen. In Helsinki these resources are held by the warden and hired out to hostellers in return for a hire fee and a deposit equal to their value. This system works well.

We think we got head lice from this hostel. The bedrooms are awful and the linen is to small for the beds. No where for locking up personal items in shared rooms. No security at all. Breakfast was light, just cornflakes and bread. Ladies toilets smell stinky all the time and you have to surrender your room key to reception every time you leave the hostel. The room key to the room with all your personable items unsecured. BAD. Location is quite good though.

Im suprised this is a 'HI' hostel as it doesnt meet their normal standards. The older guy with glasses behind the counter was very rude and unhelpful. The other staff were very nice. They only had showers on the bottom level (3 levels) and they were very grubby/broken(shower curtains were gross). They had no wifi and the ONE computer terminal they had was very slow and constantly occupied. The breakfast was average at best. I would reccomemd staying elsewhere as there are better cheaper options

Staff was unfriendly and unhelpful, which is a shame at any hostel. No wifi, and only one computer that there was virtually always a wait for. Hostel was extremely hot in the summer. There is AirCon in the hallways but not in the rooms, so either you have to leave your room door open, allowing anyone to come in and out when you're not there and letting in lots of noise while you sleep or you have to suffer in the heat. Not even a fan to help. Most of the facilities were quite old. But they kept the place quite clean. Breakfast was one of the worst offerings I've come across - cold bread (no toast or toaster) and corn flakes. The older gentleman who worked reception was particularly unfriendly. I watched one group of travelers wait for at least 10 minutes at reception while he was upstairs on the balcony chatting with others until someone finally retrieved him and he didn't even apologize.
