no plugs in room, garden was pleasent but in rainy weather what can you do Walk was downhill so not a problem with luggage and the return t the train station can also be done down hill lovely walk thru olive groves. meal was decent with seconds if you wanted of the pasta

thankfully the hostel is located at the foot of the hillside=which was good when trailing heavy bags with you .overall,a very good hostel

I had a wonderful stay at this hostel. Everyone, was so nice and the community of the hostel was warm and inviting. My only criticisms are that the lock out time is a bit too long and it would be nice if the big cupboards they have in the rooms for your bags, were lockable. I highly recommend this hostel.

Easy to walk from the station as is between the station and town, good evening meals served, good area outside to relax in, can do your washing here -- all good points! Friendly staff who speak English well

This is a great place. Not expensive. The staff (a nice little family I got to know quite well) feels more like fellow travellers than the proprietors. They make you a delicious dinner for 10euro in their own kitchen - highly recommended. Breakfast is FREE and a good deal (actually quality food, unlike most hostels). They have a beautiful and spacious yard where you can relax in lawn chairs and read a book under the olive trees. The rooms are also spacious in this old house. A short WALK away from Assisi, the hostel is nestled between olive groves, fields, and old religious sites. You can WALK to and from the train station (30-45min, a pretty, flower-lined walk).

Fantastic experience of stying in this hostel. location is awesome and relaxing below apricot tree in campus is very refreshing. Hostel staff is very co-operative and humble.

Directions
| Bus: | From the train station, buy a bus ticket from the cafè or the newsagent inside the station. Take the bright orange bus going to Assisi (the bus stop is located in front of the station - there is only one). Ask for the "San Pietro" bus stop. From San Pietro, you will need to walk back in the direction that the bus came, downhill. After a short distance you will come to an intersection - continue straight. As you proceed down, the road will bend to the right with a narrow street on the left side of the bend. Here, you will see a sign indicating your direction down the street to the hostel (300m from the sign). To return to the Assisi train station, take the same orange bus directed towards Santa Maria degli Angeli, where the station is located. The closest bus stop is "Villa Gualdi", 400m from Ostello della Pace. |

| Rail: | To reach Assisi from Rome, take the train line from Rome to Ancona. Exchange trains at Foligno and from there, take the train directed towards Perugia. Assisi will be one of these stops. Some trains go from Rome to Perugia. If you take one of these trains, there is a stop for Assisi. Comming from Florence, take the train from Florence to Rome. Exchange trains at Terontola and from there, take a train directed towards Foligno. Assisi will be a stop on this train. Some trains go from Florence to Foligno. If you take one of these trains, there is a stop for Assisi. For more information after arriving to the Assisi train station, follow the section about Bus Transportation. |
| Airport: | The closest airport to Assisi is the regional airport - the Perugia S. Egidio, 11 km from Assisi. From there, take the Shuttle bus to Perugia, and then a train to Assisi.
