Everything was very ok, only the bed linen was not fabric but paper tissue. As it was very hot, it was no problem. We didn't need something to cover but in case we would have needed it would have been very uncomfortable!
I cancelled my reservatio IN PERSON at least two days before I was to stay there (I had reserved for May 1 but no buses run on holidays or Sundays, so I went on Saturday as a day trip only. If there is any charge other than the reservation fee, please reverse it.

Hostel Overview
Art, history, folklore and also entertainment: Ascoli Piceno, rich of tradition and culture, can offer a lot to its tourists. The stay in the Y.H. is a good ocasion to know the medieval charm, because it is located in a longobardo palace with its Ercolani tower ( XI-XII century ), the biggest noble one and it is also one of the most important historical and monumental attraction of the city. It is possible to go up to the top and admire the landscape. The city is rich in monuments of all age offering an unique cultural patrimony. Don't forget the famous festival of Giostra della Quintana and its crowd of costumed characters that is celebrated the first of August each year. The city is also pleasant for a winter visit: for the Ascolano Carnival, one of the most festive of the peninsula, and also the small antiques market that takes place on the third Sunday of each month. | Location: | WHERE WE ARE The Youth Hostel Ascoli Piceno " De' Longobardi" is located in the historical city center in Via dei Soderini 26 at Palazzetto Longobardo XI Cent. Distance from the train station 1 km. Bus stop Piazza del Popolo mt. 200 How to reach the Hostel Coming from the East ( Sea ) from A14 get out at exit S. Benedetto- Ascoli ". Take the motorway for "Ascoli". After 20 km leave the motorway at the exit " Ascoli- Marino". Follow the indication " Hospital-Stadium - Carabinieri- Rome ". Go past the Hospital and Stadium, get to the " Carabinieri" stop at the traffic light : turn left towards the " Center - Solestà". Get to the stop where will appear a bridge, a medieval gate and towers. The tallest tower on the right is the hostel. The Youth Hostel can be reached by car, but it is better to have first explanations once you are at the Youth Hostel. Coming from West ( Rome ): From State Highway n. 4 "Salaria". Get out at exit " Ascoli - Rosara " and do not enter the city. Take directions " Carabinieri " - "Stadio" - "A14" ( left curve ). After 200 mt. get to " Carabinieri"- Stop at traffic lights: turn right towards " Centre -Solestà". Get to the stop where will appear a bridge, a medieval gate and towers. The tallest tower on the right is the Youth Hostel. We recommend that you park the car before the bridge and reach the hostel on the direct rue. The Youth Hostel can be reached by car, but it is better to receive before explanations from the hostel. |
