The signes to the entrance are not clear

An excellent location for complete relaxation, sleepy village in an arabic organic layout. I had the 4 bed dorm to myself peak summer season! A swimming pool, spotted some canoes to head across the river to Spain in as well!!! Only regret: missed the only bus from V.R.Santo Antonio on 1st day of 2. I'd have had time to swim across to Spain If heading from Faro- go via Villa Real Santo Antonio bus station. When I went (peak hol' August) There is one bus returning 07:42, and one going 15:10 per day! No weekend bus service. Bus destination is Martinlongo, NOT Alcoutim! Ps, dont hop off if you just see a Alcoutim sign, its the name of the area/region as well
Hostel Overview
The Alcoutim Youth Hostel has a swimming pool, which calls out for you to have a splash around in it, especially in the summer. Right next door, the Guadiana River draws the line between the hostel and Spain. About 40 km from Vila Real de St António, with a dazzling landscape, Alcoutim is the ideal place for you to spend a few days with some friends, catch some sun, appreciate the beauty of the inland area of the Algarve and do water sports such as canoeing on the Guadiana.You can do a mini catamaran ride from the Rio Guadiana. The landscape could not be better. Minimum 4 persons
