Situated right next to the Blue Mosque area, this hostel provided everything anyone would need. The staff were marvelous, knowledged and most of all very friendly. Breakfast buffet was first class and the lounge, together with the close proximatey to most of the tourist attractions - I rate this a great place to stay. Recommended highly.

The hostel condition and location was best. However the people shifted us on first day to another hotel due to over booking. Nearly two hours we were carrying our heavy luggage from one hotel to another one, very painful. Besides no confirmation or reply to e-mail was given by the hostel people. It is always a good experiences to get quick reply in case of all the YHA hostels. Instruction should be given to them to reply and not to overbooked when booking is done atleast 6 months back.

About what I would expect from a hostel in Turkey, so a little grimy and crowded. There's only one key for each dorm room and no lockers, so people can just come in pretty much as they please, same with the luggage storage. Breakfast was typical for Turkey (bread, cucumbers, tomatoes, jam), so I opted to get milk and cereal from the supermarket(s) a few doors down. Location is excellent, however -- just down the street from the tram stop and an easy walk to most of the important sites in Sultanahmet.

felt like living in a family house with all cooperative and forthcoming staff. wish to stay again and will recommend our friends when visiting Istanbul satay in Cordial. Do provide Hotel shuttle service if possible. we love Turkey

I have stayed in many HI hostels and I think that Cordial House is one of the best hostels among the others. Very good location, clean rooms, comfortable bed, friendly staff and lots of space in the common rooms. Would be back to Cordial House.

I am unhappy to, breakfast and safe cost not including to showing your web side. I sow cost on your web side,I think breakfast and safe or locker including but, I want to hostel they charge me extra breakfast and safe cost.I visit 2 more hostel in the same city and same area which your showing on your web side they sad, all including not the any extra cost. You should show to traveler which one including or which one extra cost.Thanks. TOM NORTON

I was staying in a female dorm. The room was very cold, colder than the hallway. 2 Spanish girls who also stayed in the room brought 2 guys at 3:30am and I had to yell at them to oust them out of the room. I don't ho wit happened that those strangers went into the hostel without being noticed at the reception. I was also upset about the lockers, they very small and you have to pay for them, whereas I am used to having free lockers and carry my own locker. Some staff (kitchen) does not speak English. Sometimes even reception sounded like they do not completely understand what you say.

I have stayed in many HI hostels and I have to say that this one is a little sub-par. The location is fantastic but the cleanliness was "okay" at best. My main issue was the lack of heating in my room; it got so cold at night, I actually caught bronchitis. But you get what you pay for, it is a hostel, the price and location are good, so that's fair enough.

| Bus: | To get to Cordial House from the Istanbul Bus Terminal; If you arrive in Istanbul by bus your bus will end your bus trip in the main bus station, called as "otogar" in Turkish. To get to Cordial House from Otogar take the metro and and come untill the last metro stop and then change it to tram, which is 150 metres. After taking tram get off the tram at "Cemberlitash" tram stop where Cordial House is only 60 metres away. |

| Sea port: | Istanbul has a good schedule of ferry that works between the city and its nearby cities, nearby countries as well. The main sea port is 1,5 Km.away from Cordial House. |
| Location: | A HOSTEL ONLY MINUTES FROM ALL THAT MATTERS. Perfectly located in Sultanahmet area, it is just two minutes walking distance from Grand Bazaar, St.Sophia, Blue Mosque, Underground Cistern and many of the shops and restaurants. Walk out the door and down two blocks for a stroll through Blue Mosque or Topkapi Palace or perhaps you would prefer to walk to Grand Bazaar and engage in a festival of shopping. You are even within walking distance of the Bosphorus. 40 metres to tram . |
| Rail: | The "Orient Expres"the working of this famous train in the mid-1930's still has a large reputation and 7-8 minutes walking distance from Cordial House Hostel. To get to Cordial House from the train station; If you are arriving in to Istanbul by train Cordial House is easier than the other two ways. The train station is just 700 metres far away from Cordial House, which is 7-8 minutes by walk. The tram, which connects Cordial House to the train station runs one time every five minutes. |
| Airport: | From Ataturk Airport to Cordial House Hostel: In the airport terminal, follow the signs to the Metro - Havalimani - airport station, located in a subterranean passageway between the Domestic and International terminals. Board a Metro train bound for Aksaray, but get out at the Zeytinburnu station, the 6th stop. · Exit the Metro station, turn right. You will see a sign, Sirkeci Yonune Gider or *Sirkeci This Way*, go down the steps to the Zeytinburnu-Eminonu tram and hop aboard. If you need directions, ask for Tramvay nerede - trahm-vah-yee NEH-reh-deh, but you really cannot get lost here. Because this is the western terminus of the tram line, you have a better chance of finding an empty seat than if you transfer to the tram at Aksaray. Also, Zeytinburnu - zey-TEEN boor-noo is an easier, safer and less confusing station. Ride eastbound to Sultanahmet, the 14th stop, the recorded station-stop announcement says Chemberlitash. Cordial House Hostel is just 40 metres from Cemberlitas tram stop. - Or take Havas (airport shuttle). It works once in half an hour and costs about 4.-euro per person. If you take Havas bus, come till Aksaray then you change to tram till Cemberlitas where Cordial House is located near by. - Or if you like we can provide you private airport transfer for 24.-euro per car up to 4 people. |
