Thank you so much - we loved both the city and the hostel! We got so much help from the staff organizing our further trip etc. And the breakfast buffet was definitely a highlight each morning. We'll come back soon :-)

Extremely friendly and helpful staff, introduced a really good restaurant. I lost my credit card in the fjord bus and they helped me to call my bank and the police to settle everything. Breakfast was good. I like the locking system with a card, looks really secure to me. Lockers are free to use, so as the laundry and kitchen. Dorm was spacious and well decorated with comfortable beds and sofa and chair and tea table,and even a small garden just outside the dorm. far more than what i have expected. I was the only one in the girl's dorm on second day, a good value for the price.

When the staff member (I think her name is spelt 'Kinger') knew that I had an early flight, she made sure that my breakfast was packed for me the evening before my departure. She was also very helpful in answering all my questions.

A bit annoying that the reception was only opened from 4pm to 6pm, but a good surprise that it was in fact opened longer that that. (Though it is quite understandable for such a small city, off-season.)

the bed was uncomfortable and the duvet provided had stains from either blood or faeces on it. We paid for linen and towels but no towels were provided. It was never possible to speak to staff about these issues because they were seldom there.

Ålesund hostel is probably the best ones of the HiHostel group. Right in the middle of the city centre, close to the view point and parking lot. Kitchen was extremely clean.
