Very comfortable bed! Only thing I didn't appreciate was the late check in times of other guests. Understandably it's a hostel and that's expected, but I had 2 people come in an hour apart after 11pm last night (when I had to get up at 4am) and one of the guests decided to "scrapbook", cutting up brochures etc at 12am in torchlight, and the other decided to sit on the chair at the desk opposite my bed, 2 feet away from me, facing me, in the dark, on her laptop "to help me sleep and limit the light in my eyes". Freakiest situation that I've ever had to sleep in...
Generally I was impressed with the hostel but the room (#309) was far too hot at night with no way of regulating the heat. Martina
Hostel response:
Hello Martina,
I'm sorry you had an unpleasant night.
Although, our heating system is fully adjustable. Next time you are hear, we can show you where the control is.
Kind Regards,

We have stayed here before and this time I noted that the kitchen was very well equipped with lots of new dishes and an ample supply too. On the negative side, we did try to go to the sauna one night but found two guys in their smoking a joint so we decided not to go in.
Hostel response:
Hello John,
Thanks for your feedback! If you ever were to be in that situation again, please notify hostel staff. We do not allow smoking of any kind on our premises. Believe me, as a non-smoker, I take this very seriously. I am sorry you couldn't enjoy our sauna.
Regards,

I like it !!!
Too expensive for backpacker from a third world country...
Hostel response:
Thanks for you feedback, Joseph. We do know that our prices are hirer than the average hostel. That being said, running a hostel in a remote village within a National Park comes with a hefty price tag. We also support a network of wilderness hostels throughout the Rocky Mountains, which wouldn't stay in business without our support.

fantastic!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Lake Louise hostel! Thanks!
Hostel response:

Loved it here! The hostel was so clean, welcoming and cosy and set in an amazing location right in the heart of the mountains. Stayed on my own for 3 nights and had a lovely and relaxing time. Only problem was the distance from Lake Louise but if you can find someone to walk with or catch a ride with then it's fine!
Hostel response:
Thank you for taking the time to review our hostel - we're glad you enjoyed your time here! There is a seasonal bus that runs up to Lake Louise also... it's a toonie! -Shaun Freeman, General Manager.
Only complaint. When booking a private double occupancy the booking form allowed for 2 single beds but upon arriving only had a double bed. Staff said booking request they receive doesn't indicate number of beds chosen.
Hostel response:
Thank you for taking the time to review our property, and we're glad that you enjoyed your time here. I'm not too sure how this has happened, but I'm checking hihostels.com as we speak and for the way that your reservation has come through to us (Double Room), there isn't an option to select a number of beds. If you are seeing one on your end, can you please contact the hostel directly as I'd love to get to the bottom of the issue. Once again, thank you for your feedback. Kind Regards, Shaun Freeman - General Manager.
Our first time at a hostel so not sure what else to compare it with. It was up to our expectations to what a hostel should be.
