Old Sarum ... easy walk (45 minutes)from the Hostel. Directions are a bit tricky, but it's easy enough to make your way. Great place to visit. |

The YHA English breakfast at about 5 pounds is good value, though it depends which staff member is cooking and serving as to how much or little you get on the plate. Reeve bakery downtown (near the town square)has a delicious range of cakes and sandwiches. There's also a relatively inexpensive and tasty kebab shop in Milford Street only a few minutes walk from YHA |

The Odeon Theatre (cinema) is a beautiful old building with various screening times. Not sure about venturing too much into nightclubs after reading local newspaper reports of vicious unprovoked attacks by local youth gangs on individuals. |

Bath is a good day trip by train (1 hour from Salisbury). Allow at least two days if going to Portsmouth, as there are many museums etc near the train station and seaside. |
