For great nightlife try... 26 Oct 2011 Michael, USA:
Greyhound Inn, in Chalfont St. Peter. Quiz night on Mondays. Very good pub grub. Also Three Horsshoes in Seer Green, the night I was there, on a Tuesday, they had the first ever quiz night, also good pub grub. Both these pubs, in either Seer Green or Chalfont St Peter, are about 1.2 miles in opposite directions from Hostel. If you are walking, take a torch (flashlight), as the roads are dangerously narrow and no street lighting for a while. There are short cut trails that will get you to either town, but you need a torch. Suggest going with other hostel guests and sharing a cab from either pub (7 pounds). There is a curfew at this Hostel, so you will need to get back. Nice friendly people in both pubs.
Don't miss... 26 Oct 2011 Michael, USA:
I didn't visit it, wasn't in my itinerary, but next time I will be sure to visit Ascott House (one of the Rothchild's mansions) that is advertised at the Seer Green train station as opened for visitors. I am sure the Hostel has info on it. But I would assume it is definitely worth visiting. Also, if you are with young children, check out Beaconscot model train village in Beaconfield (good for 2 hours or less, bring a lunch, or pick up something in Beaconsfield).
