13 Apr 2011 Debra J, USA:
EAT AT AL LOCAL SHOP...Bites -- just across the street for breakfast or lunch is good! As much as I appreciate that the hostel has food nearly 24/7 -- it is pricey, and they have opened it to everyone, not just hostelers -- it is cutting into the local economy...hurting the locals in the process. |

13 Apr 2011 Debra J, USA:
First, get on one of the hop on/off tour buses to get an overview of the city. Decide what you really like. Otherwise, Camera Obscura, Whiskey Experience (tour & tasting) -- across the street from each other; hiking: go up to Arthur's Seat (at bottom of Royal Mile); or just wander off the beaten path into the "private sector" to see how the real people live... |
