Even though it was pouring we took a ferry across the Lake to Castle Wray and walked for about 1 and a half hours (7 km ) around the Lake to Ferry House and then a barge to Bowness and a ferry back to Waterhead. Truly a beautiful afternoon around Lake Windemere. The day before we'd driven around the Lake which was beautiful and visited Beatrix Potter World at Bowness and travelled on the Steam train from Lakeside which was about half an hour return on the train. |
