Local musicians often play in front of the city monuments and historical structures. I had an awesome evening grabbing a coffee and watching a man play the cello. Another cheap activity is to grab some beers and go chill with the locals in the museum quarter. Worth taking a blanket on cooler evenings. |

For paintings, I enjoyed my visit to "Kunsthistorisches Museum"=lots of paintings from 15th century and later (even the building itself is quite impressive) and Albertinamuseum. also enjoyed some sight-seeing on foot and by tram. besides this, I discovered there are many nice shoe-shops in Vienna, and places to stop for a caffé-latte, or snack. |

The 'city bikes' are brilliant - you can get a tourist card for €2/day and rent bikes for free as long as you return them to one of the numerous bike stands around the city within an hour. Great way to see the city! |
