There is a library near the City Center. It is an execellent library, especially for children. In the ground floor, there are many good facilities for children. I think many other countries, especially Asian, can learn from it. Moreover, the Moomin Land in Naantali is also a very nice place and is highly recommended for a visit. Finland gives me very good impression on education and the care for children, especially compared with Asian countries. (I am from Hong Kong)

Medieval Åbo-castle and a former swedish-catholic cathedral, St:Michael church are great, don't miss them!

It's a great start point for a bike trip along Åbo-archipelago to the Åland (via Mariehamn city) and then to Sweden (via Geta and Eckerö) using small ferries running between the islands, there are many good campings to overnight.

Åbo is a great place to visit and the Hostel Turku situated in the very heart of the ancient capital city. Pros: - well situated, beautiful Aura river is a few steps away! - very friendly staff (!!!) - there is a cheap bike rental only for $10 per day (it is really hard to explore the city without a bike, trust my word!!!) - staff can speak also swedish! Cons: - doors closes at 2:00 - 6:00 AM, one has always bear in mind that dummy fact, it is very unfriendly! - reception works only few hours per day (15:00-23:00, 8:00-11:00) - early check-out (10:00 AM) - there is no free Wi-Fi (!!!) / free internet at all! :-\ - no free tea in the kitchen: I had to buy and share my own pack - electronic key-cards is evil - only simple city-bikes ar available for rental: it is very tiresome to make a suburban trips! Actually, there are no good alternatives at the moment: only two hostels in the whole city (the second situated too far from the city itself), so it is.
For great nightlife try... 27 Jun 2011 Alexander, Russia:
There are many cool small pubs in the city (Elsson f.ex.) and along the river.
Don't miss... 12 Jun 2011 Katarzyna, Poland:
Forum Marinum, castle and cathedral, there is also a very nice spa in hotel Caribia :) Good deal is to get Turku card - remember that it also gives a free bus tour ( not the best one, but still :) )
For great nightlife try... 13 May 2011 Izabela, Poland:
"Cup&pint" bar/cafe in front of the railway station - suprosingly "universal" place: you can find something for breakfast as well as lunch, etc., in evening - good place to have a beer, chat with friends.Sometimes music played by DJ."Up-to-date" interior and good atmosphere.
Don't miss... 30 Apr 2011 Marc, England & Wales:
The Castle of Turku with its museum is pretty interesting. Luostarinmäki Handicrafts Museum was a bit disappointing in winter, when no one is there to show you how their craft/work.
30 Apr 2011 Marc, England & Wales:
Rauma is not far, and can be done in half a day if you just walk around in the old town.
