El Jem - the greatest amphitheatre in the world! Train from the Tunis cost 10,4 DT one way. It's good destination for one day trip. Restaurant in front of the Coloseum is great - the waiter speaks many languages, is very polite, helpful and the food is cheap and delicious.

HI Hostel Tunis

Ideally located in the SAIDA AJOULA (name of a saint woman) street, and close to the historical heart of the city of Tunis, the colourful and sweet-smelling souks, the Medina and the shopping centres, our typical hostel is quiet and relaxed. Don't hesitate to come in, and you'll arrive in a ceramic patio, where the Andalusian coolness is in harmony with the Arab-Muslim openness. In nicely furnished bedrooms, you'll admire the Tunisian appeal and you will enjoy its elegant PAST. After endlessly constructive strolls, full of culture, through the pedestrian alleyways of the Medina, under the Mediterranean sun, this peaceful and cool haven will seem to have fallen from heaven. Our cuisine is refined and inventive, Tunisian and international, and offers a subtle mix of tastes and flavours. Our lunch small dishes will enchant every palate. Let yourself be captivated by this warm place, where relaxation goes with activities and visits, cultural as well as scenic. The whole hostel team will be happy to warmly welcome you. | more......
