For good eats check out... Phuket - HI Phuket, Milton, USA:
At the time of my visit, the Wat Chalong was hosting a festival on its grounds, and inexpensive, but delicious Thai food was found there. The festivals are numerous at Wat Chalong. There is also a great seafood restaurant just north of the hostel. In the morning, cross the street, and order coffee, lattes, cappiccion, etc., at the little coffee shop--almost directly across the street from the hostel.
