Or go by car to the little seaside towns Wijk aan Zee, Bakkum, Castricum or Egmond aan Zee. Heemskerk is also close to the cities Alkmaar, Amsterdam and Haarlem. The Uitgeestermeer lake is less than 3 km away for canoeing, surfing and sailing and don't forget the windmills at the Zaanse Schans, Keukenhof flower gardens, the IJmuiden fishing harbour or the Beverwijkse Bazaar!
