Anne Frank house is a must. Get reservations or go late in the evening. Bike riding outside the city was very nice, but a good map would be very helpful--MacBikes' map was terrible.

The bike tour with mac bikes was awesome and since most of Amsterdam is flat you don't need to be in great shape. You see tons and is pretty cheap.

This modern HI-hostel is situated right in the middle of the famous Vondelpark, at walking distance from the Van Gogh and the Rijksmuseum and at crawling distance from the Leidseplein. The hostel is partly located in a monumental chalet building from which you have a stunning view over the park. Here you will also find our Brasserie Bite & Drink, a cool place for a cool drink or a hot meal! Other facilities: 536 beds divided over 2-, 4- and 6-bedded rooms and some large dormitories. All rooms have shower, toilet and washbasin. Three rooms for the handicapped, high speed internet facilities, WiFi, a laundrette, bike shelter, pool table, tourist info and discount tickets, electronic doorlocks, lockers and safes, no curfew.
