HI Hostel Stavanger St.Svithun

The St. Svithun Hostel in Stavanger is a modern hostel with a central location in relation to attractions in and around Stavanger. All our rooms have shower/WC, TV and free wireless Internet access. Breakfast, bed linen and towels are included in our prices. There is good capacity for groups and courses. St. Svithun is directly connected to Stavanger University Hospital and also functions as a patient hotel for the hospital. We have our own café, Café Morgenrød, which serves hot and cold dishes every day all year round. In the summer season, Café Morgenrød has a popular outside terrace, Solsiden, where you can order food and drinks. Our shop, LYST, is centrally located in the entrance hall and is open 24 hours a day. Here you can buy fresh fruit drinks, sandwiches, hot meals and salads from the salad bar. We also sell small gifts, cosmetics, books, magazines and flowers. Everything can either be taken with you or consumed on the premises. The centre of Stavanger has a bustling street life and the St. Svithun Hostel is close to most things. It is approximately 15-20 minutes walking distance from the town centre, where you can stroll along the cobbled pedestrian streets and enjoy the shopping and outdoor life. You might want to drop into one of the many cosy cafés in the town, or pay a visit to the historical quarter, Gamle Stavanger. The closest bus stop is only 150 metres away and buses go to and from the centre of Stavanger 4 to 8 times an hour (no. 4 and no. 11). There are good parking facilities in our own fee-paying car park. Nature is never far away. What about a boat trip on Lysefjorden, to Preikestolen or Kjerag? There are many good walks in our immediate vicinity, and we recommend walking round the Mosvannet Lake or in the Våland gardens. Stavanger is a perfect base with easy access to both fjords and mountains. | more......
