19 Sep 2010 Marie-Line, Belgium:
There is this market place on Kuznechnyy Street just opposite to Dostoievsky house Museum, otherwise there are plenty of vendor booths/babuschkas on the streets selling fruits and veggies. I have spotted a Pelmeni place on Pravdy street (they do take away) |

19 Sep 2010 Marie-Line, Belgium:
I have spent 3 days at Hermitage and visited also the annexes (museum of porcelaine, Menchikov Palace, Storage place). I recommend to visit the palaces outside St Petersburg (Peterhof, Gatchina, Pavlosk), I did not visit Oranienbaum because it was closed for renovation. Do not miss Novgorod. I booked a tour in Russian (English tours are available but at 3 time the price of a Russian tour (3000 rub). Be aware that there are Russian and foreigners prices for all cultural sites. Foreigners of course are paying twice as much as the locals. |
