The competition between the large number of restaurants in town makes it easy to find a 3-course menu for around 12 euro, and there are many great seafood restaurants. At lunchtime, check out the indoor market, Les Halles, where you can enjoy a plate of oysters for around 5 euro ... they will deliver your order to the bar over the road, Le Bistro du Marche, where you can buy a glass of white wine to go with it.

HI Hostel Sète

Sète Youth Hostel is an atmospheric villa dating from 1903, located on the slopes of Mont Saint Clair, with a commanding view over Sète city centre, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Etang de Thau lagoon. You will enjoy a unique setting, with an outdoor dining room with sea view, meal service, an individual kitchen, snack service in summer, a lounge, a bar, a parking lot (please note that if you're coming by car, you must take Paul Valéry street, then Belfort street), 24h room access, and a picnic area in the garden. We offer 20 4-bedded rooms in a tree-shaded park, and 4 2-bedded rooms on the villa's first floor. Small campsite in summer. The Youth Hostel is located 5 minutes by foot from Sète's city centre, shops, bars and restaurants on the canals, daily indoor market, and 4 weekly markets. 10 min from the nearest bus stop enabling you to go to the beach (10km of light sand beaches), or to the train station (20 min by foot, map available on request). Sète is also Georges Brassens and Paul Valéry's home town, and you will find many museums and festivals such as Images singulières pour la photo, Worldwide, Jazz à Sète, Fiesta Sète pour la musique and Voix Vives pour la poésie. Most of them are organized in the Théâtre de la Mer (Sea Theatre), an outdoor theatre whose stage is opened on the sea and the stars.
