Around Sao Paulo Hostel: PASV on Sao Joao (one block from hostel) has really good value dishes, with abundant meat, farofa, french fries, and rice. Churrascaria Prazeres do Sul (Lgo. Arouche, one block from hostel) is also excellent, with a good variety of meats and buffet for only about R$20.
