Roman ruins, San Sebastiano catacomb, Basilica San Giovanni di Laterni, Basilica San Paolo, Basilica San Pietro, Vatican museum & Sistine Chapel. Take a break for the day or part of it and go to the old port city of Ostia Antica to view a park of ancient ruins and then go veg out at the public beach (both Ostia Antica and the beach are free transport with your Rome day ticket, etc). To get there catch the train from Piramide or San Paolo Metro/Train station to Ostia Antica, cross the highway and continue straight to the first street, if you can't get in these gates you'll find another opening to the park of ancient ruins about 100 to 200 yards to your right. Either straight to or after the ruins of Ostia Antica you head to the best and free beach take the train to Christoforo Colombo train station, then jump on the beach bus. Travel along the coast on the bus for about 10 minutes to pristine sandy beaches where you can rent umbrellas and chaises for 5 euros each. They sell everything on the beach, you can even get an amazing massage from 5 to 20 euros....well worth it!!!! Water and sand very clean.
