03 Nov 2011 Julia, Australia:
Buy as much food at the super market and take it with you, food in general, restaurants and take out is really expensive. Some street vendors and little cafes did the best food (better than restaurants) for a fraction of the price |

Go to LAPA on a Friday or Saturday night, try to get there a bit early because it gets packed! They close the streets and have a massive party outside. |

03 Nov 2011 Julia, Australia:
Go to Flamingo Beach (personally we thought it was the best beach in Rio for the view as you get this amazing view of the Sugar Loaf) and walk from Flamingo beach all the way to Sugar Loaf... takes a couple of hours to do, but it was amazing! If you are on a tight budget, make sure you walk up the sugar loaf walf way to save some bucks. Also, make sure you go and see the sunrise at Ipanema Rocks (which is between Ipanema and Copacabana) It simply stunning!! There is also a 10R boat ride in the Maritime museum (next to the Naval army) that goes around the harbour of Rio. Also, near by, there will be ferries that go directly to Niteroi for 2.80R each way... there is loads to see there, as it was our last day in Rio we only got the chance to go to the Contemporary arts museum it was an amazing building and the views from there are fantastic!! |
