Just around the corner really nice place, nice prices and gooood fish and chips www.fishandchips.is. And if you like hot dogs, this one you can't miss: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B%C3%A6jarins_Beztu_Pylsur. There almost always queue, but around midnight we got our hot dogs right away. If you're really hungry, Vegamót is your place: portion is huge (and food also good): www.vegamot.is |

Swimming pools in Reykjavik – good place to chat with icelanders too. Laugardalslaug, Sundhöllin, Vesturbæjarlaug... Of course hot springs in nature are something amazing. It's really worth to googe little bit, then rent a car and hike couple of kilometers to experience hot springs. Wow. And we took also Golden Circle (Iceland Horizon) and best in the circle, besides nature of course, were all the storys that guide told while driving. Now we know so much more little funny details of icelanders... |

For grocery, go to 10-11. It is open 24h a day, every day. For not too expensive meals, go to the Sea Baron or ask for the fish and chips place close to the Hostel. If you want an amazing meal with an incredible desert, go to the Fish Market (but expensive). I personaly never had a better desert in my life ! If you are alone or two, ask to be placed in front of the kitchen so you can see how they do things. |

Just get out and see Iceland...by road, on foot, from the back of a horse and from the sea. Go glacier walking, lava caving. It all rolls up into one fantastic experience. |

Check the Kex Hostel free jazz concerts on tuesday evenings... Great music, great place, cheap drinks. 28 Skulagata if I remember right. And you might cross famous Icelandic people there... |
