A visit to the geothermal pools, the national museum, Perlan, the geothermal beach, ***make sure to participate in the Free Walking Tour of Reykjavik which happens every day at 13:00 outside the tourist information centre right downtown. It's a two hour walk with an AMAZING guide who is very informative and entertaining. A great introduction to Iceland!! |

HI Hostel Reykjavík City This modern and welcoming hostel is the perfect choice for travellers seeking good company and affordable quality while enjoying all that Reykjavík has to offer. The hostel is one of the HI network if hostels in Iceland and one of two hostels in Reykavik. The hostel is situated in the Laugardalur Park, the city´s main recreation area, and next door to the national football stadium and the biggest geothermal swimming pool in Reykjavík. It is conveniently close to the city centre – 10 minutes on the number 14 bus will take you right to the heart of the downtown and the city´s exuberant nightlife. Those seeking a real downtown location and a bigger range for comfortable double rooms should look for availabilites in our new Reykjavik Downtown Hostel.
The Reykavik City hostel´s facilities include internet access and free WIFI in common areas, coffee bar, TV, conference room with projector for power-point presentations and our regular cinema evenings, 3 fully-equipped guest kitchens, lockers and laundry. Rooms in the hostel are 2-6 bedded rooms; all 2- and 4-bedded rooms have ensuite facilities. The hostel reception operates a travel agency offering bus passes, bikes, rental cars and the most exciting daytours, many with a free pick-up service. The hostel is open 24 hours a day all year round. Check-in is possible any time after 14.00. The FlyBus runs, upon request, between the hostel and Keflavik International Airport to a schedule connecting with every flight.
