Bring your own food to cook in the kitchen! You'll need to buy your food in Stavanger; we found food to be very well priced. Also, breakfast does not include coffee/tea. Bring your own! The hostel kitchens have filter coffee machines.

Of course, you will need to hike Preikestolen. We found it to be very icy in April (somewhat dangerous) but enjoyed ever minute of it. Bring crampons if you think there may be ice! We also did a nice hike around the lake which was beautiful.

Try staying at a B&B in Stavanger. It's an adorable little town. We stayed at the Stavanger Bed & Breakfast which serves up Norwegian style waffles and a wonderful breakfast.
