Montparnasse was very interesting for nightlife. Restaurants are cheap and usually have a live piano player or some other jazz band. There are no clubs, but the laid-back atmosphere is a must see. The Latin Quarter shares a similar kind of charm. |

Quartier Latin - same metro stop as Notre Dame - 'saint-michel-Notre dame' a few cheap shops and a nice atmosphere, but don't talk to anyone looking to sell you anything or asking for donoations or what not, they're not genuine. |

| HI Hostel Paris - Le d'Artagnan The hostel is very close to the Eurolines bus terminal and just 15 minutes from the city centre. With capacity for 440 guests it is the largest hostel in France and offers impressive facilities including a free cinema, four internet terminals, a bar, a cafe and a laundry. Children under 18 staying unaccompanied at the hostel will need an authorization from a parent or guardian.
