19 Oct 2011 Heather, Austria:
The free breakfast was a saver because in Paris, why not experience all the wonderful french cuisine in the city for lunch and dinner(that also comes at a price). But if you are on a tight budget there are two supermarkets/grocers up the street and near the metro. |

After a long day of walking rest your feet for an hour boat tour. Go at 6 when the sun is setting-so beautiful! Also check out tourist info centers. They will provide you with info on museum passes and day trips to places like Versailles. |

I wish I got the address, but I simply walked off the tourist paths and found a sandwich shop with a long line going of locals (not tourists) coming out of it. Since these were locals, not tourists, they know where to go. Got a really nice sandwich and pastries, cafe, and walked to a local park and ate at a bench. |

The Hostel has the best bar I have seen in any Hostel. Met people from all over the world, and got invited to take the Metro into the bar district of Paris where we drank at different bars and Irish pubs. Shared a cab to return, since it was too late to take the Metro. |

On the Notices board, there was listed a FREE walking tour of Paris. The guide is paid by tips, and plugs other paid tours. This is a very good tour. Of course there is the Eifle Tour, Notre Dame, Louver Museum. Also, take a train to Palace Vasailles. Spend a whole day walking the gardens (museaum pass not accepted). Spend another day touring inside Palace Varsailles (museau pass works here). The free walking tour company provides a garden tour for 14 Euros (transportation included), so this is a good deal. |

08 Sep 2011 Jocelyn, Germany:
Some of the microwave dinners in Paris supermarkets were really quite gourmet (as far as microwave dinners go) so we took advantage of the hostel microwaves at dinnertime and chose to sample French cuisine (crepes, galettes, croque monsieur, baguettes & cheese, etc.) in cafés at lunchtime. |
