There are 2 magnetrons (micro onde in French) in the kitchen. So you can warm up food. There is a foodstore (called Lidl) across the street. Also a Super-U, Franprix and Monoprix are in the neighbourhood. Check out Google-Earth or Maps. On the corner of Place the la Republique and Rue Faub. du Temple is a mobile Creperie stand. It is a Parisien specialty: thin folded pancakes. And you have to try in a good restaurant (resto) "Esgargots"

Every Friday ther is the FridayNight SkateTour through Paris (Paris rolleur.com) It is free, it start exactly at 22:00 hours in front of Gare Montparnasse/ Tour Montparnasse. The Montparnasse Tower 207meters alt. is open till 23:30. So you can see the EiffelTower blink every hour. You can climb the dome of Sacre Coeur, climb to level 2 by foot the Eiffeltower. See the Statue of Liberty donated by the French in America to the City of Paris (located at the island in the seine under the Grenelle Bridge (pont de Grenelle) at the Allée des Cignes. The dome where Napoleon is burried (Dome des Invalides) is nice. And there are 3 places to commemorate the Jewish victms of the holocaust. A Holocaust Museum about French and European Jewelry before and during the Second World War in occupied Europe and Vichy-France. (museum: memorial de la shoa @17 Rue Geoffroy l'Asnier) and there is the monument with earth from all the death camps burried in the monument next to the Notre Dame. It is called Memorial de la déportation @7 Rue Saint-Louis en l'Île Paris. Near subway Denfert-rocherau there are the Catacombs. In the 19th century they empty all the graveyards in the historic citycentre. The bones were kept to see in the catacombs.

I am going to the city of Langres (it is a walled city from medival times) and then I go to the city of Dijon, capital of Bourgogne (region) and Cote-d'or (Département) The ducs of Bourgogne ruled very large parts of Europe for centuries. Even Holland and Belgium.

The Saint Germain and Montparnasse area. Possible to walk from the hostel. Small nice streets with lots of restaurants, bars and many people.
