There's a petit casino just next to the metro station which is useful and a kitchen in the hostel.

The nearby supermarket. The hostel's kitchen is quite reasonable, although you need to wash absolutely all the utensils and pots before using them.

Paris obviously has many major attractions but they are all in the city centre, i.e. not in this hostel's neighbourhood.

To a good hostel! This is likely not to be in France, because all the French youth hostels I know (2 in Paris, one in Strasbourg) are rubbish. If you want to stay in Paris comfortably you need a hotel, not a youth hostel.

There's a Chinese restaurant on the corner to the left if you're exiting the building. They speak English and the food's pretty decent. We both got meals under 5 euros. Also, there's a grocery store behind the hostel and a little to to the left when you're facing the hostel.

The hostel does have CHARGEABLE Wi-Fi (not free) and the logging-in procedure is exceptionally awkward, with two 20-digit passwords plus name and email address required.
