For the first day - walking tours of central Paris and Montmartre to get your bearings - details of these at the hostel. Views of Paris - from the top of Montparnasse tower, Arc de Triomphe (especially at sunset) and Sacré Coeur. We didn't go up the Eiffel Tower because queues were horrendous. Musée d'Orsay for impressionist paintings - forget the Louvre - it's so vast (we were told you'd need 3 months to see everything) - though it's well worth seeing from the outside. Best impression of how vast it is from the Montparnasse tower. |
