06 Aug 2009 Jeremy, England & Wales:
Citadel: great for both adults and children. I recommend the guided tour on the train that goes round the citadel, you understand the different sections and the history. The train has a tape in French Flemish and English. River trip on boats. Princes Marie Louise Park with a playground if children get tired while you are in exploring the shops and the old part of town. The museum in the Notre Dame convent, is only one room but contains fascinating church treasures in gold from early medieval times. You can have an audio guide in English at no extra cost, that explains the history of the treasures and the ornate metal work. The museum guides are helpful too. |
