Miss breakfast if you can afford to. Staff in French hostels sit and read whilst you do the work. There seems to be very little interaction. Be careful with milk cartons. I ended up with heated milk on my soggy cornflakes. The quality of cereal is absolute basic...Lidl or Aldi and jam, tea coffe and basis baguette...sometimes old and dry. |

Just get out of the French Hostel idea in fact go somewhere else...Bulgaria perhaps!! The culture is just not worth all the hassel. This was my experience in Montpelier. Being served melted ice-cream for £8!! (one dessert!!) Take your passport when you hire a bike. Save having your time wasted. Very negative service provision generally. |

| HI Hostel Montpellier Centrally located in this pleasant university town in the Lower Languedoc area, the hostel is close to Montpellier's cathedral, leafy promenades, shops and restaurants. There is capacity for 89 guests. GOOD NEWS! MODERNISATION IN DECEMBER 2006: RENOVATED BATHROOMS, KITCHEN, DINING ROOM, CAFETERIA; NEW BEDS!
