Breakfast was good but started too late for us most mornings - 8pm. We were on our way to work by then.
For great nightlife try... 29 Oct 2010 Jeni, England & Wales:
Mechelen is a lovely town with lots of nice places to eat and relax. We went to Hete Patat on our first night - great food and good value. I would also reccomment any of the bars on the Vismarkt - De Gouden Vis and Den Akker deserve a particular mention for atmosphere and great food (Den Akker).
Don't miss... 29 Oct 2010 Jeni, England & Wales:
The cathedral tower is worth a climb on a clear day. It's really not far from either Antwerp and Brussels - an easy train ride to the centre of both - and the station is really close to the hostel.
29 Oct 2010 Jeni, England & Wales:
Try some of Belgiums other small towns - Leuven and Gent are both really pretty.
For good eats check out... 11 Oct 2010 Hiroshi, Japan:
Breakfast was very poor compared with other hostels in Belgium.
