| HI Hostel Matsushima - Pila Matsushima YH 10km east-northeast, 15 minutes by car, 10 minutes by JR train from MATSUSHIMA --- ranked as one of the Three Most Beautiful Views of Japan(*). MATSU means pine and SHIMA means island. --- you will get to Nobiru sta. which is the gateway to Oku-Matsushima (Inner Matsushima).
It is 15 minutes walk from Nobiru sta. to our hostel; white-blue, 2-story building surrounded by pine trees. We have a capacity of 100 with 21rooms and 4 seminar rooms, and warmly welcome individual hostellers, families and groups.
Here in Oku- Matsushima, you can enjoy the magnificent panorama of Sagakei (one of the Three Ravines on Japan) and Otakamori (one of the Four Views of Matsushima) all year round, pleasure boats, lots of walking courses, cycling courses and experience courses.
We also have Oku-Matsushima Athletic Park nearby, support your training camps and recreation activities such as track-and-field events, football, baseball, tennis, maret golf, indoor sports in a gym.
Check-in time is 4:00pm-9:00pm, check-out time is 7:00am-10:00am.
We keep your luggage while you enjoy walking or cycling (a rental bicycle 525yen within 3 hours, 840yen over 3 hours).
