There are shops where you can get a round bread and a |french processed white cheese for 2.50 Dh. The coffee shop across the street has coffee and mint tea for 6 D.

Hi Hostel in Fes. It was amazing. The staff were all super nice and friendly, and found us very affordable things to do. Beware! They close the door daily after 10pm, and between 3 and 6 pm! Just like Marrakech, cab drivers have no idea where the hostel is. Find it on a map, and good luck!
For great nightlife try... 28 Dec 2011 Ken, Canada:
Rick's cafe is a 15 minute walk toward the Hassan !! Mosque. A meal for the 3 of us was about 700 Dh, but in the city centert there is a place right across from MacD that does a full-on meal with steak/fish and red wine for just under 600Dh. Tip extra.
Don't miss... 28 Dec 2011 Ken, Canada:
Hassan II Grand Mosque is a 20 minute walk (turn left from the hostel and follow the street.).
For good eats check out... 20 Oct 2011 Rui, Canada:
You can eat anywhere for a good price. What I miss most is the freshly squeezed orange juice, purchased in Djemaa el Fna square. It only costs 4 dirham for a large cup, two cups will satisfy your stomach for several hours.
For great nightlife try... 20 Oct 2011 Rui, Canada:
The hostel is close to Gueliz and Hivernage (the new city) where you will find many supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants and the best night clubs available. If you spend most of your time in the Medina (old city) Djemaa el Fna, you will only be able to have a drink at the Hotel Tazi, expect to pay 25-30 dirham per beer (small 250ml bottle).
Don't miss... 20 Oct 2011 Rui, Canada:
Taxis are relatively inexpensive as long as you know how to haggle the price. From Djemaa el Fna to the airport, pay only 50 dirham in a small taxi, or up to 80 dirham for a large taxi. From the hostel to the main square, pay only 30-40 dirham. Taxi cab drivers never turn on the fare machine, actually, I don't even remember seeing one in the taxis, for this reason you can name your price or else threaten to call the police, they are afraid of the police because they could lose there Taxi License. But this should always be a last resort.

Marrakech is a crazy, hectic, dirty city...you will be constantly asked to pay money for just about anything, from taking pictures to simply passing by a street entertainer. Keep your distance from the snake charmers and monkey handlers, they will quickly put the animals on your neck/shoulder and request money, whether you wanted to or not. You will constantly be offered hash (drugs). Whether you smoke or not, I would strongly recommend NOT dealing with these people because many are working with the police to catch you in the act, thus making them money and you will spend a long time in filthy jail cells. The dealers will also rob you or threaten you if you begin to talk to them and then back down from the deal. Among hundreds of locals, you will find some genuinely nice people, otherwise, they will be very nice as long as you give them money...DON'T TRUST ANYONE, especially if they come up to you offering assistance, they simply want money and they will mislead you in an effort to spend more time with you, earning them more money. I strongly recommend spending no more than 3 days in Marrakech. This will give you enough time to see and experience almost everything, more than this will be hard on your mind and body...the noise, the smell, the constant hassle of saying "no thanks" every 10 seconds.
Don't miss... 24 Sep 2011 Zara, England & Wales:
Saadian Tombs, Le Jardin Majorelle, the Bahia Palace and the main square
For good eats check out... 19 Jul 2011 Marie, England & Wales:
