Ancora. Its a nice pizzeria just around the corner. On the first floor above the bar. In most places the wine is cheaper than coke, and sometimes even water so thats always worth a try! |

Walking down by the river in the old Lent district, walking around the town generally, all the magnificent buildings, the view of the city as you pull into the train station from Ptuj. Events of the Maribor Festival!!! Day trip to Ptuj - especially to see the exhibits at the castle (the old musical instruments & Kurent festival costumes were the best displays) and then wander round town to see all the wonderful buildings & the Roman exhibits at the Dominican monastery. |

Not so budget but yummie with children's portion of gnocchi carbonara too big for me ... jumbo portion of delicious food, pizzeria - trattoria Anchora, right in the city centre |

Little place in square. Come out of hostel. Turn left, out on main street go right and it is on the left. Lots of tables outside and 2 entrances, one into the pub and other to the restaurant. |

Not too much to do in Maribor, could cover it all in half a day. We werent impressed with the tourist information centre, they werent very helpful. Go to the pyramid hill on for view of maribor. can go up the cathedral tower for free. |
