Presidente Figueiredo - a region in the Amazon forest full of caves and waterfalls of different sizes. Take a bus from the rodoviaria (17 reais) - 2 hrs by bus. It leaves at 6, 8:30 and 10:00. Over there, you have different options of tours by mototaxi, depending on how much time you have. For better exploration, sleeping over there might be better. When I visited, it was raining, so we went by taxi to parque de las orquideas, which is close to town, and has a nice walk in the jungle (25 min), then you get to a pretty small fall and a lake - you can go for a swim. On the same road leading to the park, there is a another park, where you can visit Gruta del Baptismo - quite impressive! and the walk leading there is quite short (10-15 min).
